FAQ for Individual Clients


What are your fees?

We charge a flat fee for our services. Pricing varies per package and is also associated with a client’s level of experience. Please contact us to schedule a complimentary initial phone consultation, during which you will be provided with a personalized quote for services.

Do you charge for the initial consultation?

No, all initial consultation calls are complimentary.

What are your business hours?

All initial consultations and client meetings are conducted during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM EST (excluding major holidays).

Where do you meet with clients?

Meetings are held in person at our office located in Midtown Manhattan during regular business hours. We also work with clients across the US and around the world, so for those located outside of NY, meetings are conducted via telephone or Skype. International clients are asked to originate calls at their scheduled phone consultation times.

What forms of payment do you accept?

An initial deposit to reserve your first client meeting is payable by credit card through Square. For payment of the fee balance (due at the first meeting), we accept payment by credit card through Square, check or cash.

Can you update my existing resume?

Resume writing or editing is not provided as a stand-alone service. We do, however, offer a comprehensive assessment with strategic and actionable recommendations, that you implement yourself. This is perfect if you’re looking for quick improvement to your resume.

Do you have samples of your work?

All client work is strictly confidential. In addition, each client is unique and there is a different resume writing strategy employed for each person. We do, however, have testimonials of client experiences on our website and on LinkedIn.

We also publish original content on career strategy, personal branding, resume writing and more, in our monthly newsletter, and our Press & Events page includes links to publications where we’ve been been a key source and contributor.

How long does the process take?

Completion time varies per client because each person has a different sense of urgency to his/her job search and personal brand development. Timing is also influenced by a client’s professional and personal schedules, particularly during the iterative process of resume writing and editing. During your initial phone consultation, we will discuss your individual needs and ideal timeframe.

What is your success rate?

Clients’ goals vary and we work with each person in accordance with what they need to take the next steps toward achieving their professional goals. The effectiveness of our work cannot be measured by a single metric, however, as factors beyond our control affect client outcomes. Such factors may include how active the client is in networking or applying for positions, how he/she prepares for and performs during interviews, how he/she negotiates for a compensation package, if he/she puts a search on hold, if he/she decides not to pursuing another opportunity etc.

Do you work with recruiters?

We advise on ways to initiate and manage relationships with recruiters and professionals in executive search. When appropriate, we make introductions to specific recruiters with whom we have relationships.

What are the services you provide with BoardProspects?

Special Boardroom Basic and Plus personal branding packages are available exclusively to individual members of BoardProspects, an online board recruitment network.

What are your fees?

Pricing for each custom corporate program is based on the size and scope of the project. Contact us to schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss your organization’s needs.

How do you help with outplacement?

We partner with you to provide workshops and presentations on topics that best fit the transitioning staff, e.g., resume writing, using LinkedIn effectively and interviewing skills. We can also work with individual employees to prepare and guide them through all aspects of launching a job search.

What is PREP?

Post Retirement Employment Program (PREP) is a joint program developed by Resume Strategists and Ironmen Consulting (security consulting firm) to help those retiring from law enforcement transition into a corporate environment. For more information, visit the PREP website.
